报告人:刘庄博士 (斯坦福大学化学系)报告题目:“Biomedical Applications of Carbon Nanotubes-Cancer Therapeutics and Imaging”摘要:Nano-biotechnology is a multidisciplinary field that bridges physical sciences with biological sciences via chemical tools. Carbon nanotubes with small sizes, unique one dimensional aromatic structure, and interesting inherent physical, especially optical, prop-erties, have shown great promise in biology and medicine. In the past few years, we have comprehensively studied various biomedical applications of carbon nanoutbes inclu-ding in vitro and in vivo drug delivery and biological imaging. We have explored the in vivo behaviors of carbon nanotubes in mice. In vivo cancer treatment with carbon nanotubes in animal studies has also been realized. Besides carbon nanotubes, a few other novel nanomaterials havealso been developed and used for biomedical applications.Taken together, carbon nanotubes and related nano-biotechnologies are likely to providenew opportunities for challenging problems in biomedicine such as cancer therapy and imaging.报告时间:2009年3月 11 日(星期三)9:30报告地点:玉泉校区教八-107 刘庄博士,美国斯坦福大学博士,进行博士后。2004年本科毕业于北京大学化学系。目前在著名期刊杂志J.
