Currently, Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) is the dominant clean-up technique for the extraction of drugs, xenobiotics or endogenous compounds by partitioning-, ion-exchange or affinity chromatography. In order to automate and to fully integrate SPE into a LC-MS platform the technique of column-switching (on-line SPE-LC) is applied.报告人简介：Dr. KARL-SIEGFRIED BOOS was born in 1948 in Rastatt/Baden, Germany. Between 1975 and 1977 he worked on his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dr. Eckhard Schlimme and Prof. Dr. Walther Lamprecht at the Department of Biochemistry, University Medical School, Hannover. Shortly after receiving the degree of Dr. rer. nat. in 1977, he spent one and a half years as an American Muscular Dystrophy Association and German Research Association (DFG) postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Washington State University, Pullman, Washington in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Ralph G. Yount. He then rejoined Dr. Schlimme at the Laboratory for Biological Chemistry, University of Paderborn, as an assistant. In 1984, he became “Privatdozent” at the University of Paderborn. From 1985 till 1990 he was head of the Laboratory for Biological Chemistry at the University of Paderborn and in 1987 was appointed Professor of Biological Chemistry. Since 1990 he is head of the Laboratory of BioSeparation at the Institute of Clinical Chemistry (Director: Prof. Dr. Dr. Dietrich Seidel), Medical Center of the University of Munich, Munich. In 1994 he received the degree Dr.rer.biol.hum.habil. from the Medical Faculty and was appointed Professor of Experimental Clinical Chemistry. Dr. Boos is author and co-author of over 100 original publications in the fields of Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Medicine. Dr. Boos has been a member of the Editorial Advisory Boards of “Journal of Chromatography B” and “Journal of High Resolution Chromatography”. Since 2000 he is co-editor of the journal “Chromatographia”. In 1995 he received the Hewlett-Packard Award for Advances in Automated Sample Preparation. Dr. Rosa Morello was born in 1973 in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany. She studied Pharmacy at the University of Würzburg, Germany from 1995 till 1996 and continued her studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany where she received her licensure as a pharmacist in 2001. Thereafter she joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Dr. Karl-Siegfried Boos, Laboratory of BioSeparation at the Institute of Clinical Chemistry, Medical Center of the University of Munich, in Munich, Germany as a doctoral student. In May 2007 she received the doctoral degree Dr. rer. biol. hum. from the Medical Faculty of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich.
