The 8th Zhejiang University Young Chemists Forum was held on December 26-27, 2020 online. 23 young chemists from all over the world participated in the forum. Professor Peng Xiaogang and Academician Ma Shengming served as the chairman of the forum. Nearly 100 teachers and students attended the forum online.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Wang Peng, director of Department of Chemistry, delivered a welcome speech for the forum. He welcomed young representatives from all over the world to attend the meeting, introduced the current development of the Department of Chemistry to the participants. Ruan Hui, Deputy Director of Talent Office of Zhejiang University, delivered a speech to introduce Zhejiang University's relevant policies to the participants. Professor Li Haoran, Secretary General of Academic Committee of the University, attended the meeting.
The forum lasted for two days. The 23 young chemists who participated in the forum were selected from the global applicants, most of them were young researchers from world-class universities. At the forum, young chemists made brilliant academic reports. The forum includes materials chemistry, synthetic chemistry, chemical biology, catalysis and surface chemistry, life analytical chemistry and materials analytical chemistry, and other frontier chemistry.
