The Institute of physical Chemistry of Zhejiang University was founded in 1990 and is the formerphysical Chemistry Department of Zhejiang University which was established in 1957. It has Doctor Program and Postdoctoral Research Program. The Institute of Physical Chemistry is one of theearliest institutes who ownsPh.D. program in China and is one of the earliest national key disciplines of China.It is also one of the key disciplines of Zhejiang Province and the first batch of "211 Project" key subject construction projects of China.
The institute has excellent faculty members, with 15 professors, 11 associate professors.
The Institute’s research covers areas such as energy, materials, resources, and the environment. The research fields include green chemistry and the related chemical industry, solar cell, electrochemistry, photochemistry, theory and computational chemistry, interface chemistry, biochemistry and so on.
The Institute attaches great importance to knowledge innovation and the training of outstanding talents.It has achieved fruitful resultsin scientific research and teaching, and trained a large number of outstanding talentsfor the country. It has successively owned a number of provincial and ministerial awardsand undertaken the National Science and Technology support Program, the State 973 Projects, the State 863 Projects, the National Natural Science Foundation, and other scientific research projects, and has won a second prize for national technological inventions. Annually this institute publishes more than 60 SCI papers, and is granted more than 10 authorized invention patents.
