The Institute of High-Performance & Novel Materials was established in 2016, building on years of academic accumulation in the field of materials chemistry. The institute comprises 14 faculty members, including 8 professors and 5 associate professors. It aims to unite a group of academically ambitious scholars to form a collaborative academic community and gradually become an internationally leading institute in advanced materials research.
Research topics at the institute include the synthesis, properties, and applications of nanocrystals, the spectroscopy of colloidal quantum dots, supramolecular chemical materials, biomineralization, biomimetic porous materials and catalysis, functional porous crystalline materials, solution-processed optoelectronic devices, polyoxometalate chemistry, and two-dimensional materials.
