On May 20, 2018, the Department of Chemistry held the annual exhibition of student's scientific research, known as the Post Show. The Post Show received extensive attention from the leaders of the chemistry department, teachers, and students of the chemistry relevant departments. At the same time, it received strong support from the Zhejiang Chemical Society, the Doctoral Students Association of Zhejiang University, and the Master Students Association of Zhejiang University.
Lv Ping, Secretary-General of the Zhejiang Chemical Society and Professor of the Chemistry Department of Zhejiang University; Pan Xianlin, Deputy Party Secretary of Chemistry Department; Yu Bin, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Chemistry Department; Prof. Hou zhaoyin and Associate Professor Li Xiaofeng from the Institute of Catalysis; Professor Su Bin from Institute of Analytical Chemistry; Prof. Huang Feihe, Prof. Kong Xueqian, Institute of High-Performance & Novel Materials; Researcher Zhu Haiming and Associate Professor, Cao Fahe, Institute of Physical Chemistry; Researcher Lu Zhan and Hong Xin from Institute of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry participated in the event and gave a high evaluation of the exhibition.
At the same time, we invited 13 peer reviewers from Department of Physics, Energy Engineering Institute, Department of Polymer, College of Bioscience, College of Pharmacy, College of Chemical Engineering and other institutes, and 100 public reviewers from the Department of Chemistry to participate in the event. 233 people altogether, the highest number of people participating in activities held by our department.
Everyone signed the "Academic Integrity Initiative Wall" and promised academic integrity.
At the exhibition, students explained their research results confidently and adequately. The students who came to visit said that this activity can not only display their own scientific research achievement, but also learn other students’ achievement, so as to achieve the purpose of academic communication.
By explaining and sharing their scientific research projects with graduate students from other chemical related faculties, students from different faculties and departments are encouraged to know about the research directions of relevant faculties and help them expand their research ideas and promote cross-disciplines. The suggestions from the teachers also enhance participants' ideas and inspiration.
In order to encourage student’s enthusiasm for scientific research, many awards were also set in this event. There were 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 15 third prizes, and 10 best style prizes. Bai Xin, Chen Qi, Zhang Zhuozhuo, Qiu Jing, Guo Jing won the first prize; Peng Zhixing, Li Han, Wan Yanjun, He Zhishun etc. won the second prize; Zhan Beibei, Wang Hu, Gao Lina etc. won the third prize; and Gao Lina, Zhu Huangtianzhi, Cheng Biao etc. won the best style prize.
The Post Show has built a good scientific research communication platform for the students to sharing their results, learning from each other and communicating with each other. Through communicating with teachers classmates, the students have gained more inspiration for their research project. All works of this exhibition will continue to be displayed on the first floor of the Zijingang Chemical Experiment Center. Students are welcome to learn and discuss.
